This is a great nighttime drink as stated on the canister. I drink two regular protein shakes in the day and then one on three at night and I’ve noticed only positive results, truly nothing bad to say about it.I like to mix mine with milk, 1% if I feel like my stomach could use it, 3% if I don’t think it’ll be an issue (I have a tricky stomach so don’t think that should also apply to you), but all in all it’s a great powder. The taste is honestly unbelievable… it’s almost like it’s not even a protein/casein shake, and I’ve had to stop myself from making one after the other, though on one occasion I just said screw it and did it anyway and didn’t have any negative results, but obviously it’s not something one should do every night lol, but it’s really that good. I don’t know why people are talking about on here sit it being chalky or hard to mix, it’s literally the easiest mixing and best tasting shake I’ve ever had. I like drinking mine with a peanut butter sandwich because it’s that milky.Give it a try, I even got my mom to start taking it because her doctor wants her to gain some weight but she can’t find anything she can easily digest… I went over to her place one day and brought her enough to make a single shake, and I was ordering one for her the next day. That’s probably the highest praise I can give this thing lol. Definitely go for it, but again, it’s best as a nighttime shake due to the slow digestion process that is designed to last longer than most shakes, as you’re the most inactive when you sleep, so that’s what, and when it’s designed for.If that suits your needs, then you’re in pure flavour country with this stuff lol.

This is great casein – I’ve always been a bit skeptical after reading from a few places about how this can be a carcinogen, but the study it’s taken from is massively biased and not really applicable to humans.

If you’re after a supplement to take at night just so your body doesn’t starve itself of proteins during synthesis while you’re asleep, this is what you need. A lot of people take just whey during the day which is fine, but this is making sure you are never low on protein during your whole day cycle. I recommend this 100% to everybody that is looking for high quality casein.

Now, the truth about Casein itself is pretty straightforward. The study was done on mice – not humans. It’s true that Casein is a slow release protein and it does sit in the colon for a while, but that’s true for anything honestly. If you eat or drink late at night, it will sit in your stomach for a good 8 hours (minimum) until you wake up. There’s nothing wrong with that because the body has a natural suppressive effect on its own digestive system which occurs around 2am every morning.

Also, Casein is made by heating up milk into a powder. Using lower quality milk from questionable places during this process will probably come with some side-effects but this is Optimum Nutrition – as long as they keep using high-standard ingredients everything will be fine. That being said, I have only ever trusted Casein from ON themselves, I just don’t see the strong track record with other brands.

If you’re thinking about getting this you probably should. Don’t cheap out – get the good stuff.

Can’t fault the fact that it does keep me feeling fuller for longer, as I don’t eat when I’m working (I’m a carpenter). But compared to normal whey protein this stuff is very dry tasting and a little powdery.
Also it’s a super fine dust that sticks to absolutely everything if you spill it 😂 besides that it tastes good and can feel a difference

Can’t really test all the science behind it, but protein is protein and out of all that i tried this one tastes best.

Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard 100% Casein is a top-tier product in the world of protein supplements. As someone who values slow-digesting protein sources, this product has been a game-changer for my fitness routine and overall nutrition.
One of the standout features of this casein protein is its slow-release formula. It’s perfect for those looking to maintain a steady supply of amino acids throughout the day or to support muscle recovery during the night. This slow digestion not only helps with muscle growth but also keeps me feeling fuller for longer, which is a great bonus if you’re watching your calorie intake.
The taste and mixability are impressive. It mixes easily with water or milk, creating a smooth and creamy shake without clumps.
Quality is paramount when it comes to supplements, and Optimum Nutrition is a trusted brand known for its commitment to quality and purity. The Gold Standard 100% Casein is no exception. It’s made from high-quality micellar casein, providing a clean source of protein without unnecessary fillers or additives.
I also appreciate the versatility of this product. It’s not just limited to shakes; I’ve used it in recipes like protein pancakes and yogurt, adding a delicious protein boost to my meals.
While it’s a bit pricier compared to some other protein options, the quality and performance make it worth the investment, especially if you prioritize slow-digesting protein for your fitness goals. Overall, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Casein is a reliable and effective choice for those seeking a premium casein protein supplement.

It seems a decent casein powder but has a lot of additives. The magnesium content is magnesium oxide, which is the least bio-available form. But what I really don’t like is the sweet taste, mostly from sweeteners (sucralose, etc.). It is very, very sweet.

Une vraie caséine, ça reste dans le ventre? Oui mais je trouve le Goût hyper prononcé et fort qui écœure à la longue à mixer avec d’autre produit, texture très lourde et un peu gluante pour la saveur cookies

Great packaging, great results from the product! The taste is wonderful in this, the vanilla tastes like vanilla but kind of punchy and thick which brings out that flavour even more and I love that. On a muscle building point of view, this is a great product, every night I have it, I wake up the next day in a lot less pain or no pain at all. The vitamins and minerals in it are a great addition and the macro-nutrients from it including the caloric value are just perfect for me. Although I get a little bloated when I have it, I’m completely back to my normal stomach in the morning so no issues there as I can’t tell when I’m sleeping. This is definitely must have product and especially this flavour over the rest. I’ve tried the other flavours and few other brands and till now this has been the best overall for price and results.
